Banaybanay ranked no. 6 among the 11 municipalities in Davao Oriental in terms of population (sharing 7.56% of the province’s total population), with Mati (23.74%), the province’s capital as the most populous municipality. The average household size is 5.23 with 6,448 total number of households.
Latest count as of June 2005 by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office registered a total population of 37,344 and households of 7,755.
